Home Inspectors – Are You on YouTube? You Should Be.

Believe it or not, YouTube is the world's second most popular search engine.

That’s right, Only Google out ranks it !

So if somebody searches for a home inspector in your marketing area and you are not coming up in the top of the search engines on YouTube , you’ve missed a great opportunity to get a home inspection.

Research shows that  only 17% of consumers rely upon  traditional business advertising.

But wait! That can be good news . . .

On my website, I explain why people choose an inspector who they can trust.

What they want to understand is do you have the technical expertise to go over the place with a fine tooth home before they buy and let them know exactly what you've found, so that they don’t get stuck buying a money pit.

I have learned the hard wayconsumers want to be able to know, like and trust the people they hire. And there’s no better way to establish expertise and to start building the know me, like me, trust me relationship than by having somebody watch your videos on YouTube! Consumers can actually see the what you, as the expert can find in an inspection. When buyers view your videos and they can listen to your voice which helps them start building a “virtual” relationship with you.

You really have two options in the type of videos that you ï»¿ post on YouTube. You can shoot a live video of something outrageous that you see during the course of the inspection or you can make a sort of slide-show with photos and you in the background explaining them.

I know that home inspectors take pictures of all kinds of issues during the course of every inspection . You can put this picture on a PowerPoint slide and then use your screen capture software to describe what you’re seeing. Both styles work well, so you decide which one you like, then , when you’re finished making your video you can upload it to YouTube  and draw traffic to you.

The cool thing  about uploading your video to YouTube is that once it’s uploaded, YouTube embeds your video with a code. You can just snag that embed code and then host that video on Facebook or any of your other social network properties, plus you can put it on your website.

One of the other benefits of  having your videos posted on YouTube, is that other companies can also link your video to their website or social media . Then when people visit their website they see your video and you clearly become the obvious expert on that topic to them .

Using your videos for multiple media is what technological gurus call that repurposing your content.

Before you post your videos up on YouTube there are a few things you need to know .

1.  What are the key words someone would type into the browser of YouTube to find a home inspector in the city they’re moving to.

2.  Figure out what your titles should say to draw the most traffic.

3.  You’ll need to know how to set up your description of the video so that people will both be interested in the video and too maximize your search results.

4.  You’ll need to learn how to set up your YouTube channel.

5.  This is just a few of the things you'll have to do to be  on the first page of the search results at YouTube.

But, as soon as you get these things down pat , YouTube can  become one of your most powerful  go direct to the public marketing tactics .

If you don’t know how to set up your videos properly YouTube to maximize your search results, don’t fret. Once you become a Member of Home Inspection Marketing Center we'll show you all you should know about using YouTube and how it can draw in the customers to your door.
